Located at the Gateway to the Ariège-Pyrenées, our lovely farmhouse (built in 1786) is surrounded by gardens, fields and forest.

The tranquillity and glorious nature of Domaine de Roudeille provide a wonderful environment for rest and relaxation. Depending on the time of year you choose to visit, you could enjoy the surrounding sunflower fields, prolific birdlife, and fresh fruits from our garden – cherries, figs, walnuts...

Domaine de Roudeille is also an ideal base for exploring this perhaps lesser-known, but fascinating, region of France. Toulouse, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Andorra and Spain are all easily accessible for day trips. There are plenty of enticing options for shorter days out. We can provide you with the information and maps you need to make the most of your stay.

Why this location?

Whilst well-travelled in France, we knew little about the Ariege. Domaine de Roudeille was our ‘coup de coeur’ the first time we saw it. The wonderful farmhouse dates back to 1786 and is set in glorious gardens and surrounded by maize and sunflower fields and forest; tranquillity and nature at its best. Ariege is a delight; whether you wish to explore the Cathar history, marvellous medieval market towns, picturesque villages, Toulouse, Carcassonne, Spain and Andorra.

What are the unique benefits of the property?

Although in true countryside, Domaine de Roudeille is only a short distance (3 kms) from Saverdun with local market, shops, banks, chemists and restaurants – just a few minutes drive or a 30 minute stroll across the fields. Walks from Roudeille, and kayaking along the Ariege. For the more adventurous, excellent hiking, cycling, fishing, and snow sports in the nearby mountains. We have lots  of info and maps for exploring the area. If you just want to veg out, we have a good selection of books, films, or just plenty of peace and quiet on your terrace or by the 10 x 5 metre pool. We are pretty discerning travellers – we know how important your choices are - we tailor to you. We are open all year and arrival and departure days are flexible to fit in with your travel plans.
